NHPC Limited (previously known as the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation) was established in 1975 with the aim of planning, promoting, and organising the efficient and integrated development of hydroelectric power in all its facets. Later, NHPC broadened its goals to encompass additional energy sources, such as solar, geothermal, tidal, wind, etc.
